    Writers

Since our first production, American Lives Theatre has produced ten Indianapolis premieres, many of which were Midwestern or World Premieres. To submit a play, please email Literary Director Andrew Kramer a synopsis, the attached full play, and a quick note about why you think it’s a good fit. Allow 90 days for us to give it the attention it deserves. Thank you for considering us!

    Directors

We are always looking for new, diverse voices to tell stories in inventive and intuitive ways. If you are thrilled by the challenge of utilizing actors, designers, space and text to honor each moment as fully as possible, then we’d love to hear more about your work. Please email Artistic Director Chris Saunders and introductory note about your work: past, present and future.

  • Actors

Over 90% of the actors cast in our 4th season have never worked for us before. Certainly, we’ve been fortunate to work with some actors on multiple productions, but ALT strongly believes that engaging with new talent keeps everyone on their best game. It’s easy since Indianapolis is flush with great talent! Although the current season is cast, do not hesitate to introduce yourself with an email and headshot/resume (if you have it) to submit@americanlivestheatre.org. Seeking both non-union and Equity.
